Beijing - Culture Shock What a trip this was!! Not knowing even 1 word of Chinese my daughter and I took off on a flight from Indiana, USA to see the Great Wall of China in Beijing. Luckily we secured a straight through flight from Detroit direct to Beijing. Captain of the plane was a friend who let me visit the cockpit and Crew Lounge and taught me where to shop and how to bargain. The Pearl Market and the Silk Market are the places to go for the best bargaining experience. Good deals if you bargain, they really want to sell their goods and will bargain for anything. Hotels are cheap,if going from USA make sure you stay in American chain hotel. Only ATM's that dispense US are the Bank of China |
