India is a serious assault on your senses. From the sights and sounds, to your emotions, you experience extremes on all sides, and there may be a time that if you have a little jet lag, exhaustion and some leaky plumbing, that you might let a tear slip -- the poverty will get the better of you before you become hardened to it. I lost it about four days into the trip at an orphanage... yet I was also working straight off the plane, so perhaps if you get time to yourself, you won't be so overwhelmed, but I don't think it would've been nearly close to such an eye-opening experience for me if I wasn't so overwhelmed. |

| | Now, I normally try to travel low-budget and give some tips that are off the beaten path, but this was a work trip -- so I was in nice (read: not hostels) accommodation, had a driver the whole time, and rarely got to delve into the population like I enjoy, but I'll still try to provide some decent incite from this trip... cheers! |
