Ok, if you walk by the colosseum, Planet Hollywood or are in the train station close to 8 or 9 on pretty much any night of the year, you're likely to get some American running up to you and handing you a flier for a pub crawl. So, what this is, is you're going to give them $15 of your money, they're going to give you a t-shirt and some free drinks, and they're going to walk you through five or six bars until you end up at Campo di Fiore (big nighttime spot). Sounds ok, except you'll be hanging out with a bunch of college kids who can't drink legally in the states and after one or two bars will be puking (not to mention, they are really young, and you'll be dealing with that all night), and you'll be dealing with some American Sailors, too. The Sailors are sometimes older, usually not, and if you're into the younger bar scene, I'd suggest just skipping the pub crawl and heading straight for Campo di Fiore. During the day, the area is a market and a nice little area, at night -- it's a whole lot of drunk people. It's a younger crowd -- one of the bars will give girls a free drink if they show their boobs -- and all of the pub crawls end up here. If you're not into the younger bar scene, this might not be the area you want to check out.
