Oh, I can't even begin to say how much I love Venice. This is the one place on Earth that is completely for tourists that I can't get enough of. Usually, I'm all about avoiding the touristy areas, but I'd go back to Venice in a heartbeat. Even though most people who work in Venice live on the mainland, there are still a few neighborhoods you can get lost in, and if you can find a local trattoria in one, you won't end up paying out the rear for lunch or dinner. This is a city for romantics, and I could care less that everyone you see isn't from there. I love it. It's gorgeous. I'll shut up now. :)
