This is truly a great country to visit. In our experience the Australian people are probably the friendliest people we have come across in our travels.
We visited Sydney and then drove down the Princess Highway, stopping off at various coastal towns until we reached Melbourne. Then we headed North to Queensland to the tropical rainforest and the chic town of Port Douglas. Sydney

| | Melbourne Melbourne stands on the banks of the Yarra River and the shores of Port Philip Bay. The city is Australia's second largest and home to about 3.3 million people.
Melbourne suburbs are linked by tram, a form of transport so convenient you’ll wonder why other cities did away with them. The City Circle Tram, recognisable by its gold and burgundy colours, circles the city every 10 minutes and is free.

Port Douglas, Queensland From glamorous Four Mile Beach to the wilderness of Dickson Inlet, picturesque Port Douglas has become an international holiday mecca - just 70 kilometres north of Cairns. With nothing taller than a palm tree, development is low-rise, low-key and relaxing. It is regarded as the most popular base from which to explore the northern areas of the reef and rainforest coast of Daintree and Cape Tribulation
