We visited Fuerteventura in March of 2005, the weeks before our visit the islands had experienced some of the worst weather in several years.

We were lucky enough to arrive as the weather broke and we enjoyed mostly sunshine and hot weather during our stay.

Our base for our stay on the Island was the coastal resort of Caleta de Fuste, about 10km south of the airport lies Caleta de Fuste - also known as Castillo, one of the major tourist towns on the island.

Caleta de Fuste has one long main street consisting of low-rise buildings where the main bars and restuarants are concentrated

Fuerteventura is know for its beaches of natural beauty and after visiting them we can certainly confirm this.

Fuerteventura is not just about beaches, do yourself a favour and hire a car and explore the wonderful scenery of the island,the roads are good (not one single traffic light on the Island) and the villages are delightful.
