"Scotland" Scotland by Upstate1NY

My maternal Great Great Grandmother was a member of the McClumpha clan in Upstate New York. One of my "goals" in my travels is to visit each country in Europe to which my family tree traces it's roots. The Mc Clumpha Clan was actually a "sub clan" in the Galloway District of Scotland. (Robby Burns "old stomping grounds").
What visit to Scotland would be honest and "complete" without visiting Sterling Castle and viewing the monument to Wallace from its ramparts!
Yes, well can the ear discern the ringing of the words as they echo form ther hills:
nemo me impune lacessit
The motto of Scotland (no one attacks me with impunity).
Scotland has seen many of it's "off spring" change the world. Not the least of those was one James Watts who got "all steamed up" over engines. John Knox was the "father" of the Reformed Church movemt . The Presbyterian Church (USA) and The Presbyterian Church in Canada are partners in faith with The Church of Scotland founded by John Knox. While he might actually have disappoved of this, a statue of him stands in St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland. The only Presbyterian cathedral in the world.
- Pros:Very familar, they ALMOST speak English
- Cons:TOO English it ways that annoy (they drive on the WRONG side of the road!!)
- In a nutshell:Where is BRAVE HEART when you need him??
