This International wonder sits on the border of the USA and Canada and can be viewed from either side. There are three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls: American and Bridal Veil Falls in the US, and Horseshoe Falls in Canada. With over 750,000 gallons of water pouring over the crests of all three PER SECOND, this is truly a spectacular work of nature! |

| | One BIG Tourist Trap As with any popular tourist destination, it can get crowded here. I prefer to visit in late Autumn or early Spring to avoid the elbow bumping crowds. Aside from the falls, there are other touristy things to do...like gamble. There are two casinos on the Canadian side (Niagara Fallsview and Casino Niagara) and one on the American Side which is run by the Seneca Nation of Native Americans. If you are traveling with children, you can head to Clifton Hill. This has to be the tackiest street in North America...full of cheesy "museums", haunted houses, and arcades. Of course, make sure your wallet is good and full when visiting. Even a quick lunch is going to cost you a fortune!! |
| | Mezmerizing.... There are many activities that will get you up close to the falls. This is what you should spend your money on. You can ride the Maid of the Mist which will take you right to the base of Horseshoe Falls and won't break the bank! Take an elevator to the base at Journey behind the Falls (Canada) or Cave of the Winds (U.S.). There is also the Niagara Whirlpool where you can ride the aero car OVER the whirlpool, walk the rapids boardwalk, or ride the whirlpool jet boat. |
