History - World War II: Anhalter Station
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Built in the late 1800s, Anhalter Station was the primary station for all trains heading south from Berlin. Heavily damaged during WW II to the point that trains could no longer run from the station, it was finally demolished during the early 1960s, leaving only this small front portico. However, it would appear the Berlin government is doing a little rehab on this 'monument'. If anyone visits Berlin, I'd be curious to know how the reconstruction of this entrance is coming along...

Located in Askanisher Platz in the Kreuzberg district.
