Favorite Thing: The Kaiser Wilhelm Gedaechtniskirche (Emperor Wilhem Memorial Church) sits right outside the Zoo(logisher) Train Station / U1/U9 U-Bahn in the heart of the former West Berlin. For me, it ranks up there with the Brandenburg Gate as the symbol of Berlin. The church was completed in 1895 and destroyed during an Allied air raid on 23 November 1943. It remains a powerful symbol of what resulted to Berlin when a madman was allowed to seize power in Germany. Fittingly, there is a cross made from nails taken from the cathedral in Coventry, England. Coventry was needlessly firebombed by the Germans in WW2.

Favorite Thing: This church looks especially moving at night. The blue llit building next to the old bombed out church is one of two new sections of a modern church built alongside the old one. I took this picture by setting my digital camera to 'nightshot', then steadied the camera vertically along a utility pole located on the Ku'damm.

Favorite Thing: I arrived at Berlin's Bahnhof Zoologisher Garten, aka, Zoo Garten or Zoo Station, without having made a prior room reservation. However, inside the station there is a hotel help desk, which seems to be privately run, which was able to book me a room in a small hotel for 50 euros per night, which isn't too bad.
