Emerald of the Pacific Northwest Seattle is one of those cities that ends up on everyone's list of "Best Places" and with good reason. It's difficult not to find yourself walking around with a smile on your face. Sure the gloomsters love to talk about "Boeing blues" or ".com bubbles" but the city seems vibrant and on the move.
This was my fourth trip to Seattle, but my first as a Virtual Tourist. My "real" reason for making this cross country trip was to accompany my son while he reconnoitered his soon to be new home in the Pacific Northwest. For one of the first times in my life I really had no responsibilities in this mission aside from companionship and the occasional meal ticket. This gave me plenty of time to reflect on what I saw and what I would remember.
So as is usual for me, you will probably not find my Seattle page packed with a lot of facts and figures (though I will try). Rather mostly you will find my impressions and my recommendations as a visitor to this exciting and alluring city. |

SteveOSF Thu Apr 24, 2008 18:51 UTC Nice views and impressions of Seattle. | evaanna Sat Sep 1, 2007 14:51 UTC Wonderful pictures and excellent tips - Seattles seems to be such a scenic place. I don't think I want to be Frank Gehry's fan either. | 1courage Wed Feb 21, 2007 16:13 UTC Wow! What a skyline. Pity that it`s maybe too far away for me to take a visit, but it must be a great place. | scottishvisitor Tue Jan 9, 2007 22:19 UTC Enticing place = I well remember the hippy period = you describe the beads & tie dying vividly |
