Buy a daily Metro ticket (valid up to 24 hours from purchase time) for 3 euros and travel around Milan quickly. I prefer it to using the trams as they can tend to get stuck in traffic or a protest march (seems to be quite popular). The Metro lines are color coded to make navigation easy, this also includes the actual metro stations which have their signs in the color corresponding to line they are on (useful at junction stations).
