"SAVANNAH!!!! The Best Little City We Know" Savannah by babybird

Although the city proper is probably only 150,000 people, Savannah offers more to see and do than most in that size range. If you like beaches, there is nearby Tybee Island on the Atlantic. Savannah proper is an adventure back in time.
There are so many historic homes
and sites that you cannot possibly take it all in, even in several visits.

Our personal recommendation? Take one or two of the package tours but don't forget to bring a camera and head out on foot around the historic areas downtown too. River Street district offers plenty of choices in food and nightlife, ranging from fancy restaurants to biker bars. Police presence keeps the "drunk factor" under control for the most part. What is unique about this district is many of the clubs and restaurants
have kept their original 1800 exteriors. Many of them, such as the
nearby Oglethorpe Brewing Company on Bay St have the "bare
red brick" look inside as well. If you like ghost stories, Savannah is loaded with legends and historical characters. If you like to party, you can do that as well....TILL YOU DROP!!! Certain parts of town
away from the main attractions can get quite rough, so always ask if you are unsure, but mostly this is a city that offers something for all ages and interests. It is the prettiest
city in all of Georgia hands down.

• Cons:Hotels run a little high and eating out 3 meals a day can add up quickly.
• In a nutshell:If you go to Georgia and miss Savannah, you've missed Georgia!!!!!!
