"The Nat Turner Rebellion" Courtland by etfromnc

Courtland Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 4 photos

The first time I ever visited Courtland, I found it totally uninteresting. I was on my way to Langley AFB to begin my rise toward Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. As the years passed, I learned some very interesting things about Courtland and it very soon became apparent that I was going to miss that Chief of Staff post by a few steps. Throughout my formative years, my mother often told me that it was better to be right than rich. I incorporated that into my way of life but did not learn that you can be right without totally alienating everyone who is wrong until it was too late. Perhaps Nat Turner had the same sort of problem but his problem resulted in much more tragic consequences than just missing out on his dream job.
Please read my "Nat Turner Rebellion" Tip for a follow on to these thoughts.

Courtland is the county seat of Southampton and is located astride Hwy 58 approximately halfway between Interstate Highway 85 and Norfolk, Virginia.
