50 years ago, Riyadh's best transportation was a camel caravan. Now it has the biggest airport in the world. It's the capitol of Saudi and has two huge universities, full of beautiful architectures and museums.
In summer it's 46 C, in winter it's 17 C. It's full of heritage, historical areas. Don't miss al-Dariyah and al-Massmak Palaces. You gotta see it
Honestly I do not know much about Riyadh as a city to live although I have been there 3 times or so...but probably I know much about its culture as I hear SOoO much about it! People's accent, costumes, traditions, even their family values are quite different from where I come from, that is Jeddah. We -Hijazis from the western coast- often make fun of the Najdi (central region) dialect and so they do us too. Who's beTTer?:D There is no such a thing...I believe everyone is unique in their own way (just trying to be neutral, lol)
In the last year, there's been a revoluntionary novel that has been published by a woman author from Riyadh. This novel talks about four girls, from the high-class or *velvet* environment who have their ups and downs, as part of this interesting and amazing town. The novel was quite a success that it's been published now in its 5th edition...it's called Banat al Riyadh or Girls of Riyadh. I've heard it's being translated at the moment into English and French!...didn't I say quite a success?:D
I will try my best to get back to these pages and keep them up-to-date
- Pros:shopping malls
- Cons:hot weather

Hi Amani, well done pages by the way, I would would suggest a minor correction. The good Brazilian restaurant is not located in the golden ball in the top of the building, its in the first floor of the hotel, out side in beatufiul balcony.
I really like photos of Riyadh city in the golden ball of Fisaliah Tower! FANTASTIC!!
Nice tips!
It was very interesting to see the costums and read more, very nice! And those two buildings are impressive, too. Show us more when you'll have the time...
