The Pearl Lady - Symbol of Zhuhai

Zhuhai means Pearl City or City of Pearl, and its name is immortalized by the Fisher Lady (or the Pearl Lady) purposedly built to the the symbol of the City.

Zhuhai, together with Shenzen is one of those cities built by Deng Xiao Peng to showcase mainland China to those tourists (and the rest of the world) when China was not yet very open (as it is now) boardering Macau (as Shenzen is to Hongkong) and this is one of the newest cities of the Peoples Republic of China (25 years at that!)

Now, the City is a busting economic and tourist area. In the last tourist years (my last visit was 2002), it has more buildings, constructions, peoples, shopping and a lot of interesting things to do.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Cheap shopping!!!
Cons:Learn the "calculator language" if you want to bargain!
In a nutshell:Shopping, shopping and shopping.... oh yes, lots of walking too! ;-)
