Costiera Amalfitana Get-away | Sunset in Praiano, Costiera Amalfitana |
After having traveled Rome-New York-Rome-Dubai-Abu Dhabi-Manila-Tagbilaran-Manila-Rome all by myself for more than a month while Alfredo went on his own to Argentina for a month, we decided to spend some days in the breath-taking Amalfi Coast, our way of reuniting after the first longest separate travels we made.
Lovely towns of Positano, Praiano, Marina di Praia, Amalfi and Ravello are some we visited in the area. Each with its own distinct charm, culture, art and character |
| | 2008 Highlights Charmed by Santorini
I could have not chosen a better destination than Santorini to spend my summer holiday. Though it was a second choice (after Crete), I am happier I decided to see this part of Greece first.
Santorini was all enchanting. History, culture, art, archeology and architecture; gastronomy and eno-gastronomy; landscape and seascape; to name a few, make the place a perfect getaway. A true jewel of the Mediterranean, it is definitely worth a visit.
After Santorini, my summer holiday continued with a visit to Castelli Romani, including Frascati, Albano and Castel Gandolfo.
Quite recently, we went to Milan for the European Humanist Forum and went further to Venice for a few days.
Earlier this year, a winter trip to Barcellona and a spring trip to Gran Canaria somehow partly satisfied my wishes to visit Spain. |
| Boracay's White Beach, always splendid... |
| | 2007 Highlights! The long wait is finally over!
After more than 2 years of not having a taste of the tropics, my 3-week visit to the Philippines was more than anything that I could ask for. The weather was perfect, not a drop of rain during our week-long stay in Bohol including Panglao Island, and another week in Boracay. The hustle and bustle of Manila's busy streets and the ever-frequented malls reminded me that one could never get bored living in this metropolis. Nightlife is just endless, with a variety of places to go and there is always something new in town, may it be a new mall, new doughnut joint, bar or yeah, new technology... which reminds me that I still have to visit the 7th largest shopping mall in the world, the Mall Of Asia or MOA and try the talked-about cinema tech IMAX... At least I have something to look forward to on my next visit. |
| | 2006 Highlights As for year 2006, I should say it went by in a flash. Looking back, I could not believe that I spent the entire year without having a taste of the tropical sun, something I thought I could never live without.
These are some of the places I've been to this year mostly for tourism purposes. Hang on as it might take some time to update all my travel pages.

| this pair brought me to places... |
| | A little bit about me Every journey begins with a single step...and one has to start everything with the right foot...
I am what you call an itchy-feet as I can't stay in one place for a long time and I have always loved my feet because it has brought me to places... That elderly who once told me a long time ago that the big mole on my left sole means that I am somebody who can't stop walking or moving around and he was probably right about that. I know it sounds pretty silly but given all the resources -time and money combined- you'll never catch me at home. Staying at home is I guess the lousiest thing to do. So even if it means going to the museum, or window shopping is an experience gained for me.
Traveling is not a passion, it is a way of life. I couldn't imagine myself being stucked in one place for the rest of my life. I have changed domain (residence) for the 3rd time. I am not talking about moving to a new street, quarter or town but am talking about moving to a new city or country where the languages spoken are different from mine, and the values of people are different from those that I grew up with. Thus, I guess I am a being of that mix. I grew up in the places where I was born, used to live and living in.
Home means wherever my heart is. At the moment it is Rome. But I'll always have my roots left in Bohol and my friends and the people whom I spent some of the best years of my life in Manila.
I like to visit families and friends who live in different places. I am your typical VFR (visiting-friends-and relatives tourist) but your allocentric kind of traveler. If nobody and nothing impedes me, I'll be like visiting off-beaten tracks on my own and meeting new friends on the way.
A great desire is to settle down (or at least have a second home) in a Spanish speaking country in order to improve my Spanish, the language of my ancestors whom I never got to speak at home (except hearing it from my maternal grandpa). However, should you wish to send messages, I can pretty understand you in English, Italian, Spanish, Filipino, Cebuano, Boholano or Ilonggo.
My interests include visiting museums (yes, I'll probably get caught dead inside it!), cooking (I do all sorts and know at least the basics of Asian, Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisines), being crazy with wines but will never get drunk from it, anything about tourism (am a tourism professional), and the Humanist Movement. |
