"Lukove and its terraces, on the Albanian riviera" Lukove by JLBG
Lukove Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 26 photos
Lukove is a small village on the Albanian Riviera, 19 km north to Saranda. The name of Lukove had been made famous by Enver Hoxha because of the terraces of Lukove.
On the old narrow unpaved road that was still there in 2007, there were almost no road signs. In 2009, the new wide and coated road was finished between Saranda and Himare, but the road signs had not yet been installed. The village on the photo should be Lukove but that might also be Piqeras, 6 km north

Beautiful weather, fantastic sights and an exotic location - it does not get much better than that J-L!! It would be interesting to find out more history of the terraces of Lukove.
Very picturesque area, I was lucky to see in 2008. I can't remember "your" donkey but probably I've seen him there :-)
Interesting to see how things changed from 1988 to 2007, and again from 2007 to 2009. I like your nomination for the most beautifully flourished dump, i.e. the one with the most beautiful flowers.
Nice page, JL. The terraces look very beautiful in 2009 so I would not be worried! And next time you go there, please adopt the donkey!!! Thanks for sharing
I hope that the terraces continue to flourish. The are so picturesque. And the donkeys- sad face on first picture! Nice page, Jean-Louis
i hope at least some of the trees will flourish
I guess it was a pleasure to see the same donkeys two years later. And I guess the donkey recognized you and was pleased with your dry bread, haha!
very interesting page. never heard of the terraces of Lukove before.
I like the tip: Herd of young donkeys! Also great picture
