Half of the population of the island lives in Andros, which is the Chora (capital) of the island. It has a population of around 4,000. It is a nice little city with the large houses of the several ship owners that have made the wealth of the island in the last century.
We stayed little in town and preferred to visit the wildest parts of the island than the chora!

Nice tips and photos. A greek friend of mine recommended this island to so i might try and find my way there.
Nice tips for Andors city (chora). I always like to visit this island.
I agree with Sergey :-) Nothing is better than the bed under the stars and if it is next to an oleander tree it is even with sweet aroma :-) Pigeon houses, interesting. They have these also in Orvieto, but underground with openings :-)
I believe a night spent between a dry stone wall and a row of oleander was unforgettable, haha! Thanks Jean-Louis for sharing!
Great page with excellent details and useful information about Andros. Thanks for sharing.
Hi J-L, hope to get back to see more of the cyclades one day-my visit in May was lovely but need some more!
Although I loved exploring the island, Chora is one of the most beautiful "Chora" in Cyclades' islands. k.
