Flengi is 5 km inland to Vrsar. There is nothing to visit in Flengi but plenty to taste. The whole village roasts suckling piglets (Odojak na raznju) in a dozen of ''gostiona''. The firsts piglets begin to cook each morning between 9 and 10 AM and though each restaurant cooks at least 3 o 4 piglets, by 10 PM, there is nothing left.

Gradina, 2 km further has only one gostiona. If you drive again for 4 km, you will arrive in Klostar, where are the remains of an ancient monastery (hence the name). At first, they seem to do the same business but a closer look reveals lambs (janjetina) instead of suckling piglets.

Where to go ? Are this gostione all equivalent ? I can't say, but what I know is that Sidro's, where we have been very often, is completely reliable

I can't blame you for wanting more than one helping of that delicious looking suckling pig!! The BBQ spit reminded me of one I saw in an English pub fireplace - it was set up so a special 'Turnspit' breed of dog could keep it rotating!
