If you are interested in buying souvenirs from Pore?, there are plenty of shops that sell various items for the tourists. Sorry, I am not interested in this kind of stuff and I have taken only two photos, a general view of the window of one of these sops and a close-up on a fancy fish !

The fruits and vegetables market: The fruits and vegetables market

The oldest part of the market is inside the main building (first photo). It became too small for everybody ! Besides fruits and vegetables, there is a baker and a butcher. You can also find eggs, poultry, etc...

Another vegetables and fruits market is next to the entrance and just covered by a roofing, but open on two sides (second photo). Besides the peasants that sell what they have grown, there is often a lady who has mushrooms. On the left side (not shown on the picture), you can bring your empty bottles and buy wine by the liter.

A third part of the vegetables and fruits market has been added on the side of the parking lot. Garlic (third photo) and paprika (fourth photo) are on display !

The fish market: The fish market

The fish market is not very large and much smaller than in Pula. It has half a dozen fishmongers but you can find about anything you want : gilt-head sea bream (orata), atlantic mackerel (škusa), red mullet (barbun), sole (list), tunny (tunj), conger eel (ugor), sea-perch (branċin), mussels (dagnje), squids (lignji), shrimps (račiċi), langoustine (škampi) and others.

Tržnica: The market (Tržnica)

The first photo shows the block were stands the market (tržnica)

The alley shown on the second photo leads to the fish market, on the far left and to the vegetables and fruit market, in three places. The first (and oldest) is in the far right, in front of the fish market. A second is immediately on the right. A third is in the rear, closer to the parking lot, under a booth. It seems that these extensions have been created one after the other to fulfill the needs of a growing population.

Discount

In front of the market (this picture is taken from the market pavement), is a discount store where you will find any grocery you can need at decent prices. Unless you plan to buy a heavy load, don't try to drive to the store : though it is very close when you walk, with a car, you have to make a large loop to arrive in front of the shop.
