Fra-Kat is the place to go for exceptional quality sea-food. This is what we have been told. Unfortunately, as we had rented an apartment in Vrsar, about 40 km north to Pula, we came only twice for dinner in Pula, tried Valsabbion and Milan and left Fra-Kat for next visit. Then, we have no first hand advice to give.

Once arrived in Premantura, turn left, before the church. After 100 m, Fra-Kat will be on your right, in a perpendicular street, 25 m away.

Fra-Kat is in Premantura, a small village 10 km south from Pula. When you will see this clock tower, you will not be far from Fra-Kat. Keep driving until you arrive in front of the church shown on next picture.

The card had not a great choice, which is not a real problem. We choose lobster alla buzzara. It was outstandingly served but was heavily overcooked.
We took an old Dingac. It was poured off in a crystal decanter and was really very good.
Favorite Dish: Conclusions :
On the whole, Milan bears a good character.
It was not full up though on a Friday it should have been.
The service is outstanding.
We have been deceived by the food but had dinner only once.
Make your own opinion ! It is certainly worth trying.
Comparison: more expensive than average

The surroundings and the service are outstanding. We went there for dinner on a Friday evening, July 30th and we felt it might be full, so we booked in the afternoon. Actually, when we went for dinner, there were only two tables with customers !

Once in Pjescana uvala, you will find on the right a small road sign for Valsabbion. If you follow the street for 200 m, you will arrive towards the sea, in front of this monument. On your right, you will see a restaurant. It is completely anonymous and has no sign bearing its name ! I suspected it was Valsabbion, so I took advantage of a moment when there was no waiter on the terrace, picked up a menu to check and that was the place we were desperately looking for ! Great !
Favorite Dish: Unfortunately, it seemed to be booked out. There were already a lot of customers that had began to have dinner and several unoccupied tables were booked. Anyway, we asked to a young waitress. She said "I must go and ask". We waited several minutes, she came back and said "I am sorry, but everything is booked". Very disappointed, we were walking towards the exit when a senior waitress (manager ?) asked us what we were looking for. We told her. She said "wait a minute". We waited and she came back saying "I have a table for you"

Valsabbion Restaurant has been voted the best in ISTRIA since 1995 and the best in CROATIA in 1998, 2000 and 2003.
It has an extraordinary card with nearly every year a very elaborate novel dish from the chef.
We had lobster. It was great as was the wine (a barrique red from Plavac Mali.
We surely will go back to Valsabbion to taste other dishes but we have also Fra-Kat to try...
Favorite Dish: MENU GRAND (fish)
Couvert Grand
Summer simphony
Risotto with rospo and truffle/scampi and melon served in cheese
Soil au gratin filled with S. Jack
Sorbet "Caprice"

MENU GRAND (meat)
Couvert Grand
Mushroom carpaccio with truffles
Fagottino with smoked cheese
Tagliata with pinecone seeds and rucola
Leing Sorbet

Conclusion :
Valsabbion is expensive but is worth every lipa (no, better, every kuna). I recommand without any hesitation.
