Villafranca del Penedés

by JLBG - last update: Feb 4, 2007

On our way towards the South of Spain, we had to sleep somewhere around Barcelona. But in towns as large as Barcelona, it is not always easy to find the hotel you have booked. I selected several cities around Barcelona and close to the autoroute. We finally chose Villafranca-del-Penedes, 20 km south to Barcelona, a one hotel town. At first the address of the hotel sounded to me as a music and that may be the reason why I choose it ! Try to say :

"Hotel Pedro tercero El Grande a Villafranca-del-Penedes".

That sounds great ! Actually the city is very nice and we should have taken more time to visit it

good choice. sometimes you can get more of the culture of a country by visiting these little towns and watching what is going on. I would welcome the quiet. good tip!

Sounds like a quiet little get away. Just as I like it.

Aha! Some of the best food I had in Spain was in this small town. That is how I will remember it. The picture you have here brings back memories of us wandering around trying to find the visitor information, there it is!

Nice sleepy little town - ESA just built a 34m deep space antenna there. :-)
