    • Even behind fancy iron grids, linen has to be washed and dried.

    Linen drying always add to the life of a city and I feel that in modern buildings where drying linen outside is strongly forbidden, the rulers have killed something of the life of the city !

    • Luckily, the fountain is not too high and the bench on the side even helps to be at the right level ! It was so hot and doggy was so thirsty that it would have drink the whole fountain if we had let him do !

     Found the arches in Portogruaro to be lovely...appreciate your attention to detail. Beautiful town that I wish I had visited. Agree about the delight of seeing linens hanging outside...a part of the culture I love.
