    This isn't the correct church imge. This is 'The Madelaine cathedral' Basillque St Aprodise, is found by walking about 200 yards into the old city, directly behind this Romano Franco Madaelaine.

    Your two OTBP tips are great! Paul Riquet is to be commended for his amazing canal. Leave it to the Romans to build a solid bridge able to survive the centuries! Lots of interesting buildings in Béziers but I'd never heard of a window and door tax before!

    It's amazing that such a huge project, the Canal du Midi, was already built in the 17th century. I went through Béziers on my bicycle once (when I was a bit younger, LOL.)
