There is not much to visit in Casablanca which is a most modern town, the economic capital of Morocco, Rabat beeing it's political capital. The ''guide du Routard'', the best guide for Morocco, writes that it is the only town in the world that has kept such a large core of 1930 buildings, while everywhere else, including in Paris, most have been demolished for new buildings. At one of the entrance of the town, a huge and massive glass building, with OCP written, catch the eye. OCP is for ''Office Chérifien des Phosphates''. It points out the main importance that phosphates have in Moroccan economy. |
| | The only monument that is worth the visit is the Mosque Hassan II |

It's helpful for my trip! | lynnehamman Sat Apr 18, 2009 00:33 UTC Good information and photos of the mosque, Jean-Louis. There is a mosque in Mumbai (Haj Ali Mosque) That is also built to look as though it is floating in the sea. Very picturesque. |
