Taghit (spelt somewhere between Tarrrhhit and Tahhhit) is an oasis in the willaya of Béchar at the western end of the Grand Erg Occidental (Great Western Erg), not far from Morocco. It stretches in the Saouara valley, between Béchar and Beni-Abbès, 90 km south from Béchar. The oasis has about 6,000 inhabitants and 2,000 nomads live around.

I love deserts- this page is very informative, and the photos are very good. I was surprised to see Eucalyptus trees in the desert! Merci, Jean-Louis

I must admit, your main pic of the sculpted sand dunes is simply amazing. Great tip on how to keep your camera safe from sand. I'm extra careful when at the beach also. It doesn't take much to get sand into the inner workings of your camera.
