Nome (Prefecture) of Laconia includes the two easternmost “digits” of the Peloponissos peninsula, framing the Lakonikos kolpos (Gulf of Laconia). The western part of Prefecture of Laconia is Mani and I have reported it in another page, East Mani while West Mani belongs to the prefecture of Messini. This page is about the eastern part of Laconia. |

At the south end of the peninsula, Neapolis is the harbor for the shortest sailing to Kithira.
On the eastern coast, Monemvasia is the main city and a place for most sailings to Kithira. |
