"The REAL Cancun" a Cancún Travel Page by mirrajay

My friend and I went to Cancun in August. I had never seen the ocean before so that was my main reason to go. I wanted to experience the laying on the beach, sipping pina colada kind of vacation rather than the city type of vacation I usually take. The other reason we chose Cancun was the nightlife. The movie "The Real Cancun" came out about a month or so before we left on our trip and it sure made it look like a blast.
The beaches were gorgeous, so that part of the trip was exactly what I wanted it to be - no complaints there at all.
The nightlife was...well, it was disapointing. Sure there were tons of places to go, lots of liquor to drink, but it really didnt impress me and I really dont see what all the hype is about. I think the problem was that there were a lot of 18, 19, 20 year old kids in the bars being just plain stupid and certainly no fun to talk to. The drink tickets that got you "all you can drink" produced watered down beverages in most places and unless you wanted to dance all night non stop, the bars just werent what I was looking for.
Overall, Cancun was beautiful - the Jungle Tour is a must do, the ocean and beaches are spectacular and I'm glad I went, but I wouldnt go again.
