This was one of the most enjoyable vacations I have ever had. I wasnt sure what to expect in New Orleans since it wasnt Mardi Gras or anything, but New Years Eve is a great time to be there. It wasnt too terribly crowded where you couldnt even walk down on the street (except on New Years Eve Night), but there were a lot of people there and everyone was having a great time. We spent most of our time on Bourbon Street and dont regret doing so.There is so much to see that you can make an entire vacation just out of the nightlife and have the time of your life. You have to excuse some things about New Orleans in order to really have a great time - such as the constant smell of urine on the streets and the hundreds of drunk people running around. Yes, there were plenty of girls lifting their tops and beads being thrown everywhere and it all adds to the strange charm that the city has. I will admit I came home with more beads than I even know what to do with. I even left some in the hotel because the took up too much precious room in the overpacked suitcase. Its a great city, a great place to spend New Years Eve and the home of many great memories for me. |
