Rheinland Pfalz is in the south west of Germany, the capital is Mainz.
Other bigger towns are Trier, Koblenz, Ludwigshafen, Kaiserslautern and a lot of other beautiful smaller places.

There are 4 main rivers: The Rhine, the Ahr, the Mosel, Nahe and the Lahn. All these regions offer excellent wines. Here a pic of the Rhine valley in Oberwesel. Around the Loreley, the Rhine valley is rather smal and very beautiful.

Hi Teresa, I didn't know you had been to so many castles. I always used to like Rheinstein and Marksburg the best. Nice biking tips here! In Frankfurt we have "Handkäs mit Musik", if that's any help.
