We like canoeying. So we made several day trips to explore some rivers like the Danube, Wiesent, Lahn, Altmuehl. Unfortunately, there was not enough water for canoeying in summer 2003 on some smaller rivers

Castles

It is always fun for me to visit a castle.
the last castle I visited was Burg Rheinstein in the Rhine valley, near Bingen. Take the time to climb up to the Rheinstein. They also rent 2 appartements for holidays.

Interesting overview. I've never heard of a pig museum before. Nice photos of Burg Rheinstein -- I remember going there years ago with my children.
