auschwitz was unlike any tour i have ever taken, and one i will never forget. if u are going to take the tour u have an option between a polish guided tour, or an english tour. for an english tour u must have 7 people in the group. if u are there in the summer, its easy to find 7 english speaking folks

the hardest thing for me on the tour was seeing the pictures. i couldnt handle seeing pictures of little kids holding hands being led to the gas chambers. i was with my friend who is from poland and it was ten times harder for her. that was her history. i guess its like americans at ground zero.

an estimated 1.4 million people were killed at auschwitz alone. it was possible to kill 40,000 people in the gas chambers in one day alone. i will never forget the scratch marks on the gas chamber walls, the 2 tons of human hair that they had on display, and again most of all the pictures.

if u ever get a chance to travel to auschwitz please do so. though it can be a sad and emotional experience, it will be one u will never forget.

the picture of me is infront of the main gate at auschwitz. written above the gate is a latin term that means "work will set u free". the irony was know one was ever set free after they work at the camp, the nazis believed in working everyone to their last breath. some of the prisoners believed they would be free and they were right. they eventually were free with god
