The Breakfast Creek Hotel is arguably the most famous watering hole in Queensland and probably one of the top two or three in the country. It’s more than just a venue – it’s a major destination in Brisbane, one of the best-loved in the city. Members of the Cavill family leased the hotel for a long period, more than 70 years, much longer than the traditional period of a hotel lease. Much of the hotel’s popularity can be attributed to the stability of these lessees, which allowed traditions to develop and generated the goodwill which is essential to the success of any business.

The Gabba, located in Woolloongabba, is a 37,600 seat oval sports venue, used predominantly for hosting Australian Football League (Aussie Rules) matches, national and international cricket events. The venue is home to the Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club, Queensland Cricket Association, Queensland Cricketers' Club and the Queensland Bulls National Cricket team. The Brisbane Cricket Ground is better known as "The Gabba" and comes from the suburb of Woolloongabba in which the ground is situated. There are two theories about the meaning of the aboriginal words from which "Woolloongabba" is derived - "whirling water" or "fight talk place". "The Gabba" dates back to 1895, when the land was designated as the site for a cricket ground. The first event conducted at The Gabba was a cricket match between Parliament and the Press on 19 December 1896. The result was a tie (61 runs each).

The Queensland Art Gallery was established in 1895. Architecturally, the Queensland Art Gallery, which moved to its present facility in 1982, is the most acclaimed building of its type in Australia. The symmetry and coherence of its interior spaces are ideally suited to the display and enjoyment of all forms of art. An outstanding feature of the Gallery is its flexibility in the successfull display of a wide range of visiting exhibitions as well as housing the permanent State Art Collection. The major part of the Collection is devoted to Australian art from colonial times to the present, including painting, sculpture, prints, drawings, photographs, decorative arts and crafts. The strength of the Australian collection lies in its broad representation of significant late nineteenth and twentieth century art. The Gallery's International collection, consisting mainly of British and European works, includes acknowledged masterpieces such as Picasso's La Belle Hollandaise.

Climb Brisbane's Icon! Each adventure climb is controlled by a climb leader, who has radio contact with all group participants during the climb. Your climb leader will enlighten you with extraordinary facts about Brisbane and the Story Bridge. Preparation Climbers must arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. This allows time for your climb leader to explain the route and the all-important safety procedures. A climb simulator is then used to help prepare you for the adventure ahead. Once you are attached to the static line, your climb experience begins!
