| Beware: The Nine-o'clock gun at Stanley Park |
We just had to come back after having a great time in 2003. We had 3 days before our Alaskan cruise departed and we wanted to relax and take in the sights once again. We visited Granville Island, strolled down Robson St., toured Stanley Park and went into the aquarium. We ate chinese food, sushi, and salmon (though not all at once).
It's quite nice to return to a destination. We already felt comfortable, we knew how to get around, and we already knew where we wanted go. When the rest of our cruise mates arrived, we were able to show them around and act like a local.
UPDATE!!: We just returned from our latest visit (April 2005) and had another great time. The wife (again) was there on business, ISPI Conference, and I was brought along as the the "trophy husband." I was able to see Chinatown, UBC Anthropology Museum, and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden. We also added a couple of new restaurants to our list of favorites: Vij's for amazing Indian food, and Feenies, the latest hip-happening place from Rob Feenie...a local celebrity chef. |
