Santarem has 3000 years of History!

The historical centre of Santarem is one of the largest in Portugal.

The Royal Residence and Capital of the Kingdom in the 14th century was located in Santarem. In those days, Santarem had 16 convents and monasteries, about 30 hospitals and other monuments like palaces.

 Santarem is the coolest place to be during the "Feira da Agricultura"! along with the tasty "pampilhos" ... ; ) My latest good reference of Santarem is the Governo Civil where one can get your passport renewal 10 times faster than in Lisbon ; )
