Walking thru New York City is for someone like me, being from the "small" city of Vienna, like being in an other world. Anywhere you look, everything here is just so high and huge!

at night, Morningside Heights

I started my trip in New York City in June 2002. I have spent my first night at the campus of the Columbia University northeast of the central park, where I had an orientation, as I had a summer job in WIsconsin! The area around the campus didn't look to trustful too me (it was next to Harlem). I have spent 2 more nights in a great hotel (New Yorker Ramada) to have some time for sightseeing and a girl's favorite thing: SHOPPING!!! yeah:)

Ground Zero

Ground Zero & World Financial Center

That's where the WTC were standing, ages ago. Weeks befoer I got there they removed the last stone fo the WTCs. In the back you can see the World Financial Centers, which have a nice coffeeshop inside.

Pros and Cons

Pros:sightseeing, shopping, now pretty safe
Cons:be aware of the "bad areas"
In a nutshell:an amazing city to visit!!!

A nice peek at NYC. NYC is one of my favorite places to visit, and on VT, I get the opportunity to do so very often. : ) Greetings from Florida.
