Belvedere: a great castle - Belvedere

  • This castle has been built up in the beginning of the 18th century by the greatest captain in that time, Prince Eugen von Savoyen. He used the castle as his summer residence. It is known as one of the greatest baroque architecture of the world, and today it is a museum. Next to the castle there is the botanical garden!!

  • The garden is more than 250 years old and located right next to the Belvedere Castle at Suedbahnhof (Southern railway station). It is a huge garden with different plants, such as trees, cactuses, flowers, bushes, herbs, and also a tropical house. Best time to visit is in spring, that´s when you have lilac, pink and red colours in every corner!!!

    Stephansdom: Saint Stephan's Dome

  • This amazing church is Austrian's landmark. This gothic church in the heart of Vienna has been first built up in 1137, and then changed in the 13th hundred. The highest tower is 136 meters, you can go upstairs and enjoy the great view over Vienna! A must see for every Vienna tourist!

  • The building opposite of the St. Stephan's Dome has been built up in 1990. There's a bar on top (Onyx-Bar) where you can catch a great view of the Dome!

  • This park in the South of Vienna is great if you need some time to relax and escape ffrom a huge city liek Vienna. It has a lake in the center, but you are not allowed to swim!

  • The palm tree house, as it is called, is located in the huge park of the Schoenbrunn castle. It is a big greenhouse, containing tropical plants (hot & humid!) and also more temperate plants in the other greenhouse.

     Nice Pages -- I visited a friend in Vienna last year. We went to the "Copakagrana" and had lots of fun! The airline ticket only cost € 69,- round trip from Cologne Airport!!!
