Barrydale is situated on the popular tourism route - Route 62. It is my pleasure to welcome you this very special village of Barrydale.. Barrydale has occupied a very special place in the hearts and minds of many people for a long time. I have precious memories of a Barrydale experience – walking the labyrinth on the farm of the Fraser's- but it has many things to offer like the inspiring Tradouw Pass, or a stroll round the village to see the wonderful gardens, sitting outside at sunset listening to the calls of the Hadeda ibis as they return to their roots, and admiring the view of the surrounding hills – possibly accompanied by a glass of one of the excellent local wines. As a refuge from our increasingly strident urban life, Barrydale’s peace is bound to restore your spirits like it did mine. |
| | Tradouw pass Due to all the flood damage in the Western Cape and road closures we had to take a detour this time to get to Barrydale, over the Tradouw pass. Well all I can say is that it was a blessing in disguise else we would never have seen the dripping cave forming a veil instead of dripping |
