Port Alfred Travel Guide: 20 reviews and 32 photos

Port Alfred is a seaside resort and residential town on the sparkling sunshine coast. It is situated on the banks of the Kowie river and is exactly halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London on the R67. It is named after Alfred, second son of Queen Victoria who visited the Cape, but never set foot in this town named after him.
The beaches are magnificent and you can walk for miles in solitude should you so wish. As well as water sports in the river and sea, you can also enjoy lovely hiking, scenic drives and history seeking.
It is a well known mecca for angles from the river, beach and even deepsea fishing.
The climate is mild all year round.

Lovely Port Alfred page with great photos! The port certainly has some lovely attractions such as the beach, the museum and the Great Fish Point Lighthouse. Kowie River cruise certainly sounds wonderful to us. ~ho & pang
