And then there was Paris with the Parisians. It was with great expectation that we arrived at Gare du Nord to visit the city of love that everyone speaks so much about. We were quite amazed as this is a nation on their own, quite unlike the rest of the French people, they walk around with an air of grace and nose in the air attitude that makes you either love them or hate them. Do not address them in English or German they will just ignore you and thereby infuriate you so that they can claim that we are commoners with no manners.
Despite all of this, I had lots of fun in this city watching the Parisians sipping for a full afternoon on one glass of wine accompanied by a glass of water, watching the world go by.
This is one of the world's great food capitals and bastion of classic French cuisine.
Airports:
The main airports are Charles de Gaulle which is 26 km northeast of Paris served by the RER-B line and Orly which is 16km south of Paris and has a TGV station. Both are serviced by busses as well

Visiting this lovely city again after so many years, was really wonderful. First time around was just an appertiser, but this time we had a full week here to explore and see all the sites that we missed the previous time. Unfortunately we experienced extremely bad weather the whole time. The highlight for me was visiting Disneyland and for my sister it was visiting Versailles.
- Pros:Wonderfull buildings and art
- Cons:Extremely expensive
- In a nutshell:Beautifull buildings & art

The city of love. Still wanna take my girlfriend there one day. Great tips, stunning photo's
i shall always remember savouring freshly roasted Chestnuts on the Seine next to the Notre Dame ;-)))
Me again, coming back to have a look at some of the new or updated Things to Do tips that you have added here since March 22, 2007. I'm glad you enjoyed your second visit to Paris in 2008, despite the weather. (I was also there in 2008, but in August.)
I loved Paris, but unfortunately we did not visit Euro Disney. Looks like you enjoyed it though
I hope to visit Paris next year. Ciao!
Great page -- Paris is my favorite city in all the world... thanks for checking out my Izmir page and have fun... it's a great spot and I miss it!
We had a whole week in Paris over Easter this last trip and were unexpectedly blessed with perfect weather!
Thoroughly enjoyed my tour of Paris on your pages - saving many of your tips. Lovely! Grazie, Carol
Thanks for your visit to my pages, lovely Paris tips, I must say...I was disappointed with the Hotel we stayed at in Paris, expensive, I think SA has far better accommodation.
