Bangkok, the (bad) first impression of Thailand

by karin_kamphuis - last update: Jan 9, 2005

Bangkok: Busy, Busy and BUSY!!!!!!

Grand Palace.
We only stayed in Bangkok for 3 days, but saw different things typical Bangkok.

We had a great hotel, visited The Grand Palace, The World Trade Centre Shopping Centre, went to the Cinema, shopped at the local markets in the evening, had a great Thai massage and we saw the Erawan Shine a holy buddha where all Thai people go and pray.

We also stayed near Bangkok at Ao Prao resort on Koh Samet; the best resort we've seen!!!!! See the Koh Samet pages: http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/6c990/160b51/
The guards from the temples!! Imressive!

The really BIG guards from the temples:

The large buildings around the Grand Palace.

Gold everywhere!!!! Take your sunglass with you!

Pros:"Nice culture, beautiful architecture, great shopping, Thai Massage and CHEAP!!!"
Cons:"busy, sometimes "bad" people who try to cheat you, traffic and bad smells"
In A Nutshell:"Don't remember your first impression!!!!! There's more than the traffic, the smells and the packed city!"
