Brighton - Royals, a sandless beach and a pier

by gordonilla - last update: Feb 2, 2005

An unusual view of the Royal Pavilion

the entrance or exit
Normally the conventional view of the Royal Pavillion is the full building with domes and well formed roof details.

However this is one of the gates into the complex itself, similar eastern style of architecture.
Sarah and Gareth

A fishy scene on the pier

One rather cold weekend, my house mate Sarah, was celebrating her birthday. Her boyfriend, Gareth, came up from Bristol to celebrate and the three of us then went to Brighton for the day. It was very cold, anda winter visit is not what people shoudl do. On the other hand, I enjoyed the rough sea and the strong winds.
Brighton beach and Pier

The sandless beach and Pier

The beach has no sand, and is covered in pebbles. I had been there previously and it was pleasant enough, however it is not ideal for sun bathing (or walking).

The pier has an excellent funfair, good food and drink and is certainly near the sea!
