Principe Real Hotel: Staying in a Lisbon Boutique..hotel that is!

This was an interesting find; and fairly good value for money. It is a hotel where you get a room key and have to hand them in as you leave the building.

There is free wifi and fairly modern plumbing.

The breakfast was good, although you do have to order it from waiting staff - no buffet here!

Holiday Inn Lisbon: Attending a conference and then some holidays Holiday Inn Lisbon Review

This was a hotel chosen by the conference organisers as it was directly opposite the meeting venue, Lisbon's IST (which was full of Engineering and Architectural students, then of course we Facility Managers).

The hotel is 10 storeys tall with a roof top pool. It is open in the summer months and not the winter. Sadly here is no sauna, and this might be a good addition.

The staff were friendly, but they would not give me a late check out, even though their guide says to ask. (This has been a common experience when staying in quite a few hotels)

The restaurant and bar staff are good, nice menu and service.

Unique Qualities: As noted there is a roof top swimming pool - there is a good if small shop and the hotel has both wifi and an internet connection. They host meetings and events too. Good coffee.

Radisson Sas Hotel Lisboa: Being a loyal SAS and Star Alliance traveller Radisson Blu Hotel Lisbon Review

I have continued to use SAS hotels. Although I have a pleasant enough room, with a view - the service from the hotel so far has been a little hit and miss.

It started with a call I made from London when I asked about the hotel airport shuttle, both the hotel staff and the centralised Rezidor SAS booking service gave me the wrong information. I finally ended up getting a taxi to the hotel. The hotel runs a bookable shuttle from the hotel TO the airport.

Things improved dramatically, with excellent breakfast and dinner service - comfortable bed and well generally much better service all round. They even have live music in the bar - of course, it is a man at the piano.
