  • I honestly cannot say enough about the Hotel San Giusto! We booked our room through 1st Reservations online and got a very fair price of $70 per night for a two person room.

The hotel is located a bit on the outskirts of the main tourist areas of Rome, but I think that its location really gave it so much character. It is right near Piazza Bologna which is a very nice, neighborhood piazza which is surrounded by restaurants and shops. The closest Metro stop is Bologna on line B. It is literally 2 blocks away from the hotel, which makes getting in/out of the tourist areas of Rome very easy.

Our room was decorated in a very simple yet elegant style. We were given two twin beds, which is always a little annoying when you are trying to have a romantic vacation. There was a large wardrobe in the room which had drawers and space to hang clothes as well. The TV got many Italian channels and also the International CNN station. We had a desk with a dressing mirror and a modestly sized bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. The shower's water pressure was better than most of the European hotels that I have stayed in.

The people who worked at the desk weren't very outwardly extra nice, but helpful nonetheless. When we came back from a full day of sightseeing and we were looking for a new restaurant to try, the man working at the front desk sent us to a local place. He gave us a card for the restaurant and told us to talk to the manager and tell him that this man had sent us. We were treated like kings that night!

Unique Qualities: The morning breakfast, which was included in the price of the room, was always fantastic! They provided quite a spread of meats, cheese, rolls, sweets, fruit, orange juice, coffee and other juices as well. It is an all-you-can-eat-buffet, so we usually filled up enough to be able to eat a late lunch. Plus, we liked to sneak some treats into our bag for later in the day when we needed a snack!

A very nice feature to the hotel is a balcony where there are some tables and chairs for sitting. We sat out there and read books on one particularly nice evening.

The hotel does have air conditioning, which comes at no charge.
