Since leaving sunny Brisbane in February 2003 and heading over the other side of the world to London, my boyfriend and I have done some of travelling throughout Europe with a lot more to come. So far we have overnighted in Paris, been on a tour of Italy at the height of summer, spent a long weekend in Brugge and Brussels, lazed on the beach in Palma, and celebrated Christmas in the French Alps. This year we have planned to go to Reykjavik for Easter, spend Anzac Day in Gallipoli, do an eastern block tour taking in the sights of Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Vienna and Budapest, visit Athens during the Olympics, taking a long weekend in Dublin, all before heading back to Australia at the end of the year. Phew! |
Back home and missing the travel! Since moving back to Brisbane after two years in Europe, my now fiancée and I are experiencing real withdrawal symptoms! After all the whinging and whining about missing a real beach with waves and sand for two years, we have only managed to make it there twice in the six months we have been home - how sad!
Now that we're saving for a wedding too, the mini-breaks have been put on hold as well. We're both missing popping over to the continent for a long weekend away like we used to. Boo hoo!
We have something to look forward to though - we're off to Noumea and Ile des Pins for our Honeymoon in November, which I can't wait for! Days doing nothing but sleeping in, lying on the beach, boating, eating, drinking and relaxing! YEAY!! |
