Seek out Santiago Oaks

In East Orange, one can enjoy the rugged outdoors of Santiago Canyon. There are 350 acres of natural beauty and outdoor fun away from the city-suburban life. Sycamore trees are abundant here. Be cautious of poison oak and, oh yeah, MOUNTAIN LIONS! They don't usually go near humans. This is a prime OC place for hiking, birdwatching, and gladly, gazing at water!
There is no swimming in the lake. You wouldn't want to do it anyway by the looks of it!

Vans Skate Park- The Block at Orange

This is the original skateboard park in Orange County. It has been touted the the biggest and most techincally advanced skate park in the world. One sees many teenage boys here hitting the ramps here, as well as girls and the older crowd.

Equipment: if you don't have your own board, helmet and kneepads, you can rent some at the Vans store.

Here's a good alternative for guys and young kids, who are the target audience here for indoor racing entertainment. Lots of adrenaline comes out of this place. Dromo races run inside a very easy-to-miss building a few miles away from Angel Stadium and the Honda Center (Old Arrowhead Pond arena).

Los Alamitos

In central west Orange county, you can spend time at the races. OK, it's not the Kentucky Derby but it's a good old time at the Los Alamitos Race Track. The area around is rather flat and open. The city of Los Alamitos and neighboring Cypress are also good for golfing activities.
