Dude, there's more than the shore in H.B.!

Huntington Beach

H.B. is a very happening part of O.C. that is known as "surf city ". This is the premier place to catch the waves and experience a whole surf culture that is tremendously apparent here! Of course, you see this at the beach itself with bold, eager surfers who get an early start on breaking waves.
Beyond the beach, H.B. makes sure that you know she digs (likes) surf! Many of the city's stores and restuarants include "surf" in their names or put a board or some another kind of surf symbol on their window.

OK, but, aside from surf talk, there are other things to say about H.B. She is an entertaining host with her several bars and clubs of interest in the O.C. area. There is quite a charning part of her, callled Old World Village. A fountain from the quaint German-esque attraction is pictured here.

At some time, I will feature the new Bella Terra area in the city. It is yet another suburban shopping area that has been constructed here in SoCal but there is usually something interesting enough to discover at one like a restaurant or novelty store and also it will likely be a place to take pretty pictures to take, like with water fountains :-)

Mostly H.B. provides a good sense of security, as it is one of the safer (no such thing as 100% safe ever) and heavily populated cities in southern California.

* Surf City is a phrase that stirs up debate between H.B and another California city, Santa Cruz. Both claim this title, though, arguably, H.B. better represents and markets "Surf City" throughout the city on streets and business.

On the Beach

This picture was taken on a rather gray day. This did not stop and never detours the surfers, volleyball players, jogger, cyclist and other people who add to the beach culture.

Break for the beach !

Don't miss H.B. on your next greater Los Angeles trip. H.B. is only about a 30 drive(well, if traffic allows for this) from the center of L.A.

Pros:"active beach, good waves for the surfer, low overall crime for a city."
Cons:"nothing major dude !"
In A Nutshell:"Surf and about everything else's up in Huntington Beach!"
