OK, it's not the most touristy thing to do but make an exception with this library, here in education-savvy Cerritos. The city prides itself in the importance of learning. This public library offers a great place for students young and older to eread and explore...blah..blah...blah- what's more is that the library is just a feast for the eyes.
When talking of archectural highlights of L.A. county, the Cerritos Public Library deserves mention along with Disney Hall in downtown L.A and the Pacific Design center in West Hollywood and other grand sites. With a brilliant bronze facade, elegantly landscaped front courtyard area and fanciful water fountains (which I absolutely adore), this is a place of sight seeing-not just for reading a book. If you want to check out your e-mail or surf the net while on vacation or just while in the area, this is a great place to go because there are plenty computers for web browsing available to the general public without paying a fee and the wait time to get on a computer is little or none! By the way, what's inside here is also worth noting: a huge aquarium along the children's section,an art gallery featuring locals' work, and wonderfully interior designs of literary themed study rooms (i.e.a Jules Verne-20,000 Leagues Under the Sea room)
