Ahhhh, Harrah's
Harrah's is the most southern casino - set uite far apart from the others. According to Joyce, they have the best food in Laughlin - and after eating at the buffet, the 24hr diner, and the restaurant, I'm not gonna argue!
Between the jetski rentals, sand beach, 2 pools, 2 jaccuzzis, 4 restaurants, and nice atmosphere - you don't need to leave Harrah's unless you really want to! The pools are assigned as family and adult ... I actually preferred the family pool as there weren't many children during my stay, and I found the so-called adults at the other pool a bit too rowdy for my tastes.
We stayed in one of the few roll-in shower rooms they offer - and except for the blow drier being too high to reach from a chair, it was well designed and comfortable for 2 adult women with all those female accoutrements... :) If you are not very mobile, you'll need to remember to ask for a shower chair, and the roll in does not have a bench.
Suites are available, but not usually comped. For this trip, with her casino membership card (well used in the past I must add), she got our room for 2 nights at 44$/night, and 2 nights free. Can' beat that price!
Unique Qualities: They have a nice size non-smoking casino, with a good number of table open 24/7. Fewer slots are in the non-smoking area, but there is a variety from Penny slots on up.
Harrah's has the only sand beach in casino row, it's small but has 2 halves that makes it easy to enjoy the sun, water, sand and all ...

I not only didn't go check this place out myself, I was discouraged from doing so by my travel companion, and casino workers on the strip!
This particular resort does have potential - with an RV park, large casino, large capacity concert venue, and isolated riverfront fun.
But, it's current reputation is very sad, and downright scarey. The local told me of gang related violence increasing on the property of the Avi, which they believe is related to this casino being located on native, hence federally controlled, lands.
I don't know if this is a valid point, but I do know that I don't go out of my way to put myself in danger ..... so until their reputation in the local area improves, I won't be going here.

The Riverside had decent food, nice views and good gambling.
They also have a first run movie theater where I saw 'Hitchiker's Guide' - they serve booze in the theater if you wish ... and on a weekend, you can discover how alcohol can increase audence participation with the characters on screen.
The non-smoking casino is only 3 tables or so ....... and not always staffed.
Shopping is scattered throughout the non-casino region - and the arcade was full of teen and child action and fun.

Sorry, I can't seem to find a pick of the Ramada Express in Laughlin - but I'll share what I know :)
This is the cheapest stay in Laughlin - they are across the street from the river, so there isn't direct river access ... this also limits the views from the guest rooms. The rooms are cheap, with lots of specials and coupons throughout the year. The staff is wonderful, and they have wonderful special for Veterans.
Good gamlbing, a train outside that takes you around the property, and patriotic museum displays makes this someplace worth a visit.

Colorado Belle ....
The Colorado Belle is the most outstanding looking casino in Laughlin - it is shaped like a paddle boat afterall :)
There is one floor devoted to shopping and arcades, the casino is well staffed with decent gambling
Unfortunately, Joyce tells me the guest rooms have a mustly odor which make them difficult to rest in ...... so .......
I think it's worth a visit, but perhaps NOT an overnight stay :)

Joyce and the waterfall ....
Joyce didnt' have much to say about the Golden Nuggett, but we did spend time wandering about and hitting the tables for a short bit :)
They have a decent parking garage, but extremely limited van accessible handicapped parking.
Though we didn't loose at the tables, we didn't exactly win either :) They gladly took our chips from neighboring casinos, so we didn't have to add more cash to our pot. Our dealers were friendly, helpful and fun - yes fun .. as was the pit boss on duty :) We were there for only an hour and a half - so really can't judge the overall casino from that short of a visit but, compared to some other tables ...... definitely worth a stop :)
Unique Qualities: They have 2 small waterfalls in the entry, surrounded by greenery. This leads into the casino. We wandered about, and took time to look into a couple of shops, and to enjoy the free animatronic show ...... a variety of fake macaws in a golden cage who sing the blues ... definetly cute! Across from the birds is a $10 store w/ watches, purses, shawls/wraps, and other items .... nice enough that I even bought a few things while there .... :)

Edgewater tower as seen from the river
Joyce and her husband hate the Edgewater, and call it the 'ashtray' of Laughlin. The riverwalk takes you through the casino before taking you back outdoors - okay, I can understand that from a marketing perspective .....
Her biggest complaint is that she feels the dealers cheat. When called on it, and you ask them to have the control room look at the tapes of the hand, they have said, "we don't do that". If this happened only once - well okay, a crappy dealer. Twice, you begin to wonder. Three times, they are probably cheats and it's not worth your time to spend your hard earned money at their tables.
Oh, and you should probably warn others ......
The rooms are only average, and the service is similar to that seen in the casino ... nothing special really.

Flamingo Casino lights
According to Joyce, the Flamingo is the 2nd best stay in Laughlin, with the added perk that it is right smack in the middle of casino row :) During our stay, there was even a sold out Olivia Newton John concert .... though we didn't get to go to the show, we did see her in the mall across the street :)
Decent food and rooms, and a lot of nice river views and of course I love friendly staff. Their immediate lobby is quite patriotic, with US flags, as well as flags of other countries - a nice display ... but doesn't fit the rest of the decor .....
They also have a comedy club off the casino floor that I've heard is pretty good - but I haven't gone to a show there ..... yet.
